Largest Wood Carving
Sequoia National Park, California

A carving of Paul Bunyan and his Blue Ox, said to be the world's largest from a single piece of wood, slowly took shape under the axe and chisel of sculptor Carroll Barnes in the foothills leading to Sequoia National Park. Barnes selected a 25-foot log from a sequoia for his carving which he copied from a 40-inch model.
